Drawing animals is always a lot of fun and I am a particular fan of drawing them.
It’s rewarding and challenging to draw animals often due to the fact that there’s a lot going on with them that’s different from drawing human-like characters. Fur, for example, very challenging to render correctly and animal anatomy always poses a nice challenge.
On the Drawing Factory we have published a lot of basic tutorials on how to draw animals, for example:
How to draw a dog, How to draw a cat step by step, How to draw a puppy,
just to cite a few, however for this month challenge it’s all about disregarding realistic drawing of animals and instead using a highly stylized approach.
It’s all about simplifying the complexities and trying to capture the essence of the creature you are trying to represent.
It’s an interesting challenge and here I have searched for you a series of amazing images from different illustrators to inspire you to create your own stylized animal.
But this is just the beginning to get you started!
