Drawing anatomy is tough, I know but essential, that’s why for this month drawing challenge I have decided to ask you to draw hands.

Yes, those amazing human appendages that cause so much trouble to drawers and artists at all stages of their careers.

But why are they so difficult to draw? In a simple word, complexity. They are complex. They are not as straightforward as say an arm or a leg. They have five digits of different lengths, they are flexible and can bend and curl in so many different positions and shapes.

Shall we even start talking about shadowing them…? Don’t even get me started!

To start you off on a good path you can check this simple tutorial I have created on how to draw hands, nothing fancy, really but enough to get you started.
