Naruto characters: Naruto (part 4)

Naruto characters: Naruto - Welcome to this new tutorial of the Drawing Factory. This time we'll show you how to draw Naruto and paint Naruto using photoshop.

Now it's a good time to draw the symbol of Naruto's clan, the leaf onto the head plaque. The simplest way to do it is starting by drawing two concentric circles.

Naruto characters: Naruto - the leaf

Draw a big outer circle and a concentric circle inside like in the picture below. At the same time do not forget to take care of all the small details of the face here and there.

For example I have added here the scratches that Naruto has on his cheeks.

Now add a triangle and a small segment to the outer circle like in the figure.

Naruto characters: Naruto - Completing the Leaf symbol

Yes you are almost done with it. To complete the circle to perfection you use the two circles as a guide to draw the spiral that forms the center part of the Leaf. At the end of this process just delete the excess lines to obtain the final drawing.

Add also at this stage a little detail to the neck guard and a bit of shadow under the nostrils using small pencil strokes.

To add the detail to the neck guard follow the schematic shape of the cylinder that you have used to sketch it in the first place.

And YES we are almost there! Almost ready to finalize the drawing and start painting it with photoshop!

Take care of all the small details as you please and bring them to finish. However do not go crazy with detail as many of the effects will be achieved using digital coloring.

Now if you have done the drawing using pencil you ned to ink it either with real ink pen or on the computer before going to the next step.

If, on the contrary, you have been drawing directly in photoshop you just need to select your drawing or line work and put it in a separate level as we will be painting on separate levels underneath the drawing.

As a last thing before starting painting create a background level underneath the drawing and give it a flat kind of neutral color. I have chosen this red-brown cause it goes well with the color of Naruto but you can usa another color. It's good practice though not to paint on white as it is more difficult to assess color and the painting will look flashy and uncomfortable.
