Learn to draw a fire cute monster

by Lucia

Another irresistible cute monster with this new tutorial: the burning monster. He is the perfect companion for the other two little creeps the one-eye monster and the three-eye monster.

This will be a step by step tutorial so grab your favorite pencil and follow the steps!

Step 1

Let's start with simple shapes. An egg, that will be the body of your fire cute monster, a rectangular face on the upper side of the egg and a little curl on the other side.

Now you can erase the line in the middle of the face and the separation between body and tail.

Draw the face of your cute monster and sketch some horizontal, slightly curved lines in the right part of the body, like in the image above.

Step 2

It's time to add some details. Is this a fire-monster or an egg-monster? Where are the flames?

If you want to draw flames you can begin with a curved line, like a little wave. Now you can draw another lower wave that begins and ends in the same points and it's a bit round in the middle, like a tiny belly.

Some flames can also have a V or Y shape, like in the figure.

If you're happy with your cute fire-monster sketch you can mark the lines with an ink pen.

Step 3

The last step is to color your fire-monster. It can be a classical red-orange fire-monster or also a peculiar blu-green one. Or a rainbow fire-monster. It's up to you!

Hot and Cold Colors

Colors can evoke the feeling of warmth or coolness. This feeling is called Color temperature. Reds, oranges and yellows tend to be regarded as ‘hot’ or ‘warm’ colors, whereas greens and blues tend to be considered ‘cold’ or ‘cool’. White and black can both be considered neutral.

Whether a color appears hot or cold also affects how we perceive distance, as warm colors always come forward in a painting, while cooler colors recede. This can be seen in any accomplished landscape, where the background will gradually be painted bluer, the further and further back that the image is depicted.

You can use a digital drawing software to ink and color the monster if you want. There is plenty of information about this in our free drawing software section.

You can also download a free coloring page with this little monster to start coloring it as you like!

There you have it! Your little fire monster ready to burn!
